I’m from the US and must agree with you 100%!! I’m not a trump fan nor of his politics. He seems to be on a path of destruction of the values of most people. If I were younger I would definitely consider moving to Sweden. I am not “poor” but will always be on a tight budget. I can just dream of Sweden because I could never make enough money to move there 🫤. Kind of a double edged sword. I think it’s important to be able to discuss these things and hopefully learn new ways to live and with less stress. There are many things l’d like to see change. Unfortunately it’ll never happen here, at least not in my lifetime 😢

As a Swede you describe Sweden perfectly. People here go by their feelings not about facts. Just like smal babies. Especially women. That is why Sweden today is so bad today if you compere to 1960-70-80-90,s everbody who lived back then know this. Young people today dont know anything about nothing. Just looking at their Phones like rerards.

I lived most of my life in the US (50 years) after my parents moved there from the UK when I was a little boy. After learning more about the values of Sweden (lagom and the law of Jante, which are basically the polar opposite of the US values) I decied to pull up some pretty deep roots and make the move. It hasn't been easy, I'm still struggling to learn the languate, but I do not regret it. There are so many contradictions in the US that it's mind blowing!

Crossing the lake IS dangerous unless one know how thick the ice is, one can do some level of estimation based on the temperatures of the previous days but then one also need to know about the underwater currents, those can thin the ice to close to nothing. Only after those things it can be a safe crossing of a lake. Deers drown by going trough the ice every year, they are found in the ice sometimes, and they are lighter than humans.

The thing about taxes in Sweden. We have a few different taxes. Two of them are extreme. The tax on work/salary is quite high yes. The tax on capital and assets are very low, extremely low. So the welfare state that many RUclipsrs talk about in connection with Sweden is really in decline. Now we have privately owned schools and pharmacies. The staffing and recruitment companies multiply as the state is reducing the swedish unemployment agency. Many young people have nowadays a harder time getting into the housing market and getting a steady job. Employers hire for a few months, per season, and so on. The neo liberalism is growing and that ideology makes for a very depressed, corrupt, and dangerous world.

As an American, born and raised here in the US, having lived here all my life, I can say it's getting very scary to live in the US. We've never been this close to a complete fascist dictatorship, even by a long shot. My wife is a 3rd generation Mexican American, born in Texas, never lived in any other country and doesn't even speak Spanish. We've never had to worry about her being detained, interrogated, harassed or even possibly deported to some country she's never even been to before, but now we do. Even Native Americans are now being detained and harassed by immigration enforcement. And it's getting worse every day.

It is amazing the Swedish people would think that USA under Donald is preferable to Sweden. As a Swedish person with family in the states, I am convinced that the US needs a social democrat like Bernie Sanders. There he is called extreme left (communist) here, he would be a right wing social democrat. Here I would not vote for Bernie, because we have had that fight already, there I would because the inequality is staggering.

The welfare system is a trade off. It protects against becoming poor, but at the same time the taxes that finance it make it difficult to become rich. It is difficult in Sweden to grow from middle class to rich by your own power. Income equality in Sweden is one of the best in the world. But at the same time, wealth inequality is one of the highest in the world.

Snygga glasögon. Jag har själv så dålig syn att jag kan inte välja själv vilka bågar jag vill ha för alla passar inte med mina glas. Hoppas din syn inte blir så dålig som min. If i understood Trump right, it was not singel europena countries he was negativee toward to. He was negative to EU as a whole and how it could enforce rules and laws that effect´s the US. So Elon Musk is German. Then he would now how wrong that salute he gave was wrong. Elon Musk has tried to do something here in Sweden that you just don´t do. He has tried to make sure his workers att his tesla factories here in sweden. Not be members of the local unions the workers should have. By saiyng so shows how little Elon Musk knows about swedeish work culture and how the swedish wellfare state was formed. What he is trying to do is give the workers no right to "Kollektivatvalet" (do some resaerch about that and what it means). Me living in the US of A? Don't think Kamala would have been better. Both parties in the US are more or less owned by the wealthy elite. Trump was not part of that elite, so the elite were/are afraid that he will not favor their interests. There is a lot of talk in Sweden about certain groups being a threat to democracy. It's the same as in the US. An established power elite is afraid that they will lose their privileges when new actors come. Not because the new actors are better, but they are not controlled by the established power elite. The whole world is losing democracy. Authoritarian forces are growing. They hide behind false facades and say that restrictions on freedoms are to protect democracy and minorities.

Well spoken! Agree! The idea that women can't even make their own choises about their bodies there. How can that even be a question? A total nightmare! A lot of crazy people/stuff nowadays. Still, we have to stand up and move forward. Work together!

    • @niklasmolen4753
      @niklasmolen4753 6 дней назад

Why you say things like "women can't even make their own choices about their bodies" is because you probably don't understand the arguments of the opponents. You prioritize women's rights. They prioritize the rights of the child. You write "A total nightmare". They think child murder is "A total nightmare" How you look at it depends on whose needs you prioritize. The needs of the two are in opposition to each other.

    E. Musk shares posts about freedom of Greenland and Danish colonialism, but he doesn't mind the biggest war since ww2 - genocidal war in Ukraine, AfD-Moscow lies and other fascists. Each to its own.... Sweden is not really safe, because Russia started a more active phase of the hybrid war against the whole region, including hitting Baltic fibre, electronic warfare(GPS signal etc...) Have you seen Musk talking about that?

  • @perkunlitewski

What I really don't like is that Elon M. supports AfD and their lies about Russian genocidal expansion. I mean, it's really serious thing for Scandinavia which borders Russia to say the least. I mean I can get my head around, how can anybody repeat and believe neoSoviet propaganda. E. Musk is manipulating the narrative to fit his agenda including natural resources in Greenland which he would like for free and not to pay for it to Denmark and thus the EU. Just neo face of colonialism.

To be honest, it makes perfect sense for a gouvernment in a litigation-crazy country like USA to state that there are only 2 genders in official communication; because there are a new genders invented every day and it would simply be impossible to adress every individual with their chosen pronoun etc. This does not change reality however, and people will still be whatever they are. You seem to think it is now illegal to identify as anything else but these two genders? The number one reason that immigration have not been a bigger problem in the US historically compared to most of Europe is the welfaresystem; because when the citizens pay more taxes in order to get better welfare, that is undermined by immigration if it is unchecked. It has happened in Sweden too. And ironically it hurts the lower segments of society most when the welfaresystem stops working, wich is why it is always the high-income whitecollar class that can act morally superior about these questions. The rest of us just want to survive with any sort of quality of life. US, not having a real welfare system, have happily been letting most or all immigration into their country and using them as cheap labour. That leaves even the worst off american-born in the middle of the economic strata. In my opinion that in is not only unethical (american liberals used to agree with me on this before they radicalized), it is also hampering any initiatives to actually create working welfaresystems in the US, like universal healthcare. So if they can get their imimigration policies in order and make it balanced, they might start working on all the issues that creates the inequalites. And the one thing we seem to agree on is that we dont want inequalites. Donald Trump is not a gentle man. He is not a gentleman. He has alot of issues, is extreme in many ways, and expresses thoughts and opinions in a not meda-trained way. But he is not deep state. That is the main thing. No meek individual could challenge the century old corruption of Washington DC and survive. Donald Trump is the man to do it; and the world would be better off if he succeeds. You talked about 2nd world war; if only the germans had had an orange man to challenge the moustache man and throw him out before he ravaged the world, no? If he can drain the swamp; after him there can be new leaders; who expresses themselves more according to your sensibilities. But more importantly; can be great and benevolent leaders for the american people.

The big difference between the USA and Sweden is freedom and democracy. Americans have been told since they were little and they still do today that America is the best country in the world and the only country with democracy and freedom. But if you add the ranking the countries have in freedom and democracy and it came in 2023, Sweden is ranked number 4 when it comes to freedom and democracy. The USA ends up in 29th place regarding freedom and democracy but with a caveat. Now they say that when Trump becomes president again, the USA will drop in the ranking, to go from 29th place and end up much lower. Which in plain language says that the American people will have less freedom and reduced democracy, the USA is on the way to dictatorship, because of how Trump is doing now.

Every country in western Europe is politically much more liberal than the USA. Only really far right European parties is close to MAGA US. My guess is that "The Trump party" (not the Conservatives) would get around 10% (5-15%) of the votes in a Swedish election.
